A farm holiday in Partschins, South Tyrol

Immerse yourself in a truly special world. This is what a holiday on the farm is all about. Look forward to unique farm experiences at the Vertignerhof, that will remain unforgettable.

Your hosts, the Steck family

A very warm welcome!

We are Iris and Georg with our little son – your hosts at the Vertignerhof! We live on our fruit farm together with Iris’ parents, Jutta and Christoph. Georg and Christoph look after the orchards and the animals. Iris always has an ear open for the wishes of our guests. In addition, the young farmer's wife makes her own farm produce and enjoys helping with the farming. Of course, our friendly dog Nala, who has her own retreat, is also part of the family. We look forward to getting to know you!

Our fruit farm

We grow a wide range of apple varieties in our orchards. Between the trees and around the farmyard, there are also many animals, who are vital helpers in farming. We support the presence of beneficial animals with the help of home-made nesting boxes in the meadow orchard. We are fulfilling our dream – from April 2026 we will be inviting visitors to stay in our new holiday apartments for a farm holiday and will enable our guests to discover rural life on the farm for themselves.

Our farm experiences
for young and old

There are constant sounds of neighing, clucking, baaing, quacking and barking at the Vertignerhof. There are all kinds of animal adventures going on in our farm. Blacky, our Shetland pony, enjoys his retirement and likes being lazy most of all. In contrast, our runner ducks keep everyone in shape! The two Welsh Blackface sheep, Rosi and Susi, are twin sisters and always really lively. Our rabbits love to be stroked. And our hens, who give us fresh eggs every day, like to peck around the farm too!

Which apple varieties grow on our farm, and what do we need to think about during the harvest? Our visitors can find out all kinds of fascinating facts about apple growing and even pick their own apples during the year-round, weekly tours of the farm. Our animals also need to be fed and cared for every day – children are welcome to help out if they wish! Or would you like to fetch your breakfast eggs from the chicken coop yourself? Simply let us know the evening beforehand, then you can feel free to go looking for eggs the next morning. Up-to-date information on our farm experiences is published on the information board in the lounge.

Iris uses our apples to produce pure apple juice and dried apple rings. In addition she makes various fruit spreads, fruit and leaf syrups from our fruit and herbs, as well as single herb teas. In our produce basket you can also find fresh eggs from our happy hens and the honey produced by our bees. The sale corner with our farm produce can be found in the lounge, and you are welcome to purchase our products there for breakfast or as a souvenir for home. The range that we are able to offer varies according to the season.

A farm holiday is truly great for the youngest among us. There are lots of things to discover in nature and on the farm. Stroking rabbits, looking for eggs, picking apples – a unique adventure! In our playground with sandpit, seesaw, swing and children’s wooden playhouse, the children can let off steam while their parents can keep an eye on them from the loungers. And even if the weather isn’t great, there’s no chance of being bored – then they can head off to the play corner in the lounge, where the time will fly over games for all ages.

Simply do nothing for once. Enjoy the view of the Vinschgau Valley, the spa town of Merano and the entire mountain from a lounger.
Our large garden is a great place to laze around in. Surrounded by our colourful orchard meadow with flowers, berries and shrubs. Lots of herbs and crisp vegetables grow in the farmhouse garden. Our guests are welcome to help themselves free of charge during their stay. There is also a barbecue area, where you can grill, roast chestnuts or bake stick bread with the children over the hot coals.

Our lounge is a cosy meeting place that is available all day for guests to play in, read or chat with others. There are board games for adults and families, as well as toys and games for children of all ages. The small bookshelf with books about the country and its people is great for browsing. You can also find the sale corner, with our own produce, here. You are welcome to take a look in our farm file where you can find plenty of tips for your holiday in the Vinschgau valley as well as useful information.
