The Vertignerhof is in the perfect location for combining country life with urban panache. Both the village of Partschins and the spa town of Merano are only a stone’s throw away and are easily reached by bus too.

The narrow alleyways, historic residences and sunny hillside location make Partschins a particularly romantic village. It is possible to buy everything that you need in the three food shops. You can spend a relaxing summer's day in the outdoor swimming pool with children’s pool. Our farm is only 800 metres from the village. A buns runs there and back several times a day, or you can enjoy a lovely walk there (15-20 minutes).

With its palms and mountain summits, Merano has delighted visitors with its own special charm for centuries. Go for a wander through the old town and along the spa promenade. Shop in the historic arcades, in the Algo shopping centre or at the farmers markets and weekly markets. Culturally, Merano has a lot to offer too, including several museums, theatre productions, concerts and exhibitions, as well as events such as the Merano Flower Festival in spring, the Grape Festival in autumn and Christmas in Merano.

When you stay here, your car can take a break too. The Vertignerhof boasts excellent links to the public transport network. With the free South Tyrol Guest Pass, our guests can travel for free.

The bus stop is only 200 metres from our farm. The village bus brings our guests to Partschins in just a few minutes. From there buses travel to Partschins Falls, the Texel and Aschbach cable cars, to Rabland and Naturns. Merano too can easily be reached by bus (20 minutes). For those who would prefer to head for the mountains, the Texel cable car on the Sonnenberg and the cable car to Aschbach on the Nörderberg carry hikers conveniently up the mountains. The nearby railway stations in Rabland and Töll are great starting points for exploring the Vinschgau valley and Merano and its environs by train.

Our guests receive the South Tyrol Guest Pass digitally on their smart phones. The South Tyrol Guest Pass entitles the holder to free use of all public transport in South Tyrol (bus and regional trains) as well as selected cable cars (incl. Aschbach, Vöran and Mölten).

The experiences that await you around Partschins near Merano are as diverse as the landscape itself. Sporting, culinary, family-friendly and cultural – there is absolutely no shortage of variety.

Be it a leisurely walk, hike with a pushchair or an alpine tour – in Partschins and the Texel Group nature park, there is a path for everyone. Many hiking trails start directly from the farm. Unique – the historic irrigation channel paths that run along the Vinschgau valley or into the Merano area. For those who want to go up into the mountains, the Texel cable car on the Sonnenberg and the cable car to Aschbach on the Nörderberg will whisk you up the mountain in no time. Starting from the mountain station there are amazing hikes of varying degrees of difficulty and with magnificent views.

"Knott” means “rocky crag” in South Tyrolean. And that is exactly what the Burgstallknott is – a small climbing park on the cliff, just 15 minutes’ walk from the farm. Ideal for beginners and children too. Experienced climbers are attracted to the Huafwond climbing park, with superb views of the Dolomites and the Merano region. Between waterfalls and mountain streams, the Ziel via ferrata winds along the edge of the Texel Group nature park.

Feel like pedalling through the apple orchards or up to the alpine pastures? Leisurely valley cycle rides lead through the Vinschgau and as far as Merano. And for anyone who wants more, there’s always a side trip into the Passeier Valley. Best of all, it’s easy to get started from the farm with your cycle or e-bike, as the cycle path is just 10 minutes away. Mountain bikers can look forward to amazing single trails, especially on the Nörderberg, or the Bike Highline Meran/o.

Fans of winter will find plenty to keep them happy here too! Four ski resorts in the nearby vicinity tempt visitors with a range of slopes, toboggan runs, winter trails and cross-country skiing tracks. Apart from this you can also tramp through the winter landscape on a snowshoe walk. And a visit to the Merano Christmas Market is as enchanting as the magic of Christmas itself.

In Partschins, traditional customs combine with contemporary culture – not for nothing does the word “art” appear in Partschins’ name. The various festivals in the village square and the concerts at the Stachelburg and in the gardens of the Gaudententurm residence promise a fine summer's evening! The sheep drive from the Zieltal Valley is also unforgettable, when 1300 sheep return home from their summer retreat! A peaceful pre-Christmas period can be enjoyed at Partschins Advent. The “Gsund bleibn” (Stay healthy) project enables our guests to feel the healing power of the Partschins Falls and of nature through a range of programmes.

Time for the family at last! Getting out and about together and discovering new things, with us here on the farm and out in nature. Around our farm there are several hiking trails, which also make hiking fun for the little ones, and are accessible with a push chair. Or how about swimming and splashing in Partschins’ outdoor pool or a day’s bathing at Lake Kalterer in southern South Tyrol?
